In May, my Requiem for Animals for Chorus and String Orchestra was premiered in beautiful performances by the Brattleboro Concert Choir!
I’ve been so pleased with the positive responses and reflections I’ve received from singers and audience members—it’s so gratifying to know that this requiem has impacted people in such a deep way, and I hope it continues to do so through this recording and (hopefully) more performances. Here are just a few things people have said about the work:

January 2025 News
By far, my biggest composing project of 2024 was my Requiem for Animals for Chorus and String Orchestra, which I have now completed and delivered. Commissioned by the Brattleboro Music Center along with support from the Eric Stokes Fund, "Earth's Best in Tune", and the Culture and Animals Foundation, the Brattleboro Concert Choir will begin rehearsing it later this month and premiere it on May 17 and 18 at Potash Hill (the old Marlboro College campus) in Marlboro, VT.

June 2024 News
My Lamentation for String Orchestra, which won 1st prize in the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra's Third International Composition Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania last year, received a second performance by the orchestra in March. It also received a performance by the Jasper High School Orchestra at the Texas state assessment festival on "Leap Day" (Feb. 29) in Plano, TX, plus it it scheduled to be performed by the amazing professional chamber orchestra ROCO in April next year at Rice University in Houston, TX!

Happy New Year! I'm really excited to embark on a new large-scale commission this year.

July 2023 News
In February, my new song cycle Felling, with lyrics by Kendra Preston Leonard was premiered by Daniel Laverriere and pianist Brendon Shapiro as part of FUSE: Collaborations in Song, a project of Catalyst New Music and Boston Singers' Resource at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. The 10-minute cycle describes the journey from untouched forest to destruction to regeneration.

Happy New Year! My biggest highlight of the past several months was attending the INK STILL WET Composer/Conductor Workshop at the Grafenegg Festival in Austria.

Happy New Year! As 2021 ends, I am grateful that this fall semester was mostly back to normal in terms of classes being back in person and many performances resuming (although still with masks on).
