More Information

Two Minutes for Saxophone Quartet was written in late December of 2013.  It is called “Two Minutes” because it consists of two movements, one slow and one fast, each lasting nearly exactly a minute long when performed at tempo.  The first movement, which is at such a slow tempo that it only consists of 96 notes, is actually an arrangement of a movement from a string quartet I wrote as a freshman in college.  The second movement is at a very fast tempo and, while also a minute long, consists of 1267 notes, more than 13 times more than the first movement.

Movement I premiered September 27, 2014 by a very small consortium Saxophone Quartet at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Green Bay, WI.

Movement II premiered January 11, 2015 by the New Thread Saxophone Quartet at Jan Hus Church, New York, NY.
